Triathlon Camp

Triathlon Camp - click to see album

On May 14 we packed up the car and headed to Lake Raystown, PA for Triathlon Camp! This 2-day camp was led by Alison's coach and included people that we're friends with through Tri Performance, Alison's triathlon training group. Many of them also brought families along so we knew the boys would have other kids to play with.

The camp consisted of early morning runs at the resort, learning to swim in open water in the lake, and biking around this very hilly (mountainous!) area. Stuart was able to come out for the 28-mile bike ride while the older girls watched the kids.

It was exhausting but a lot of fun. On Sunday we had a practice race consisting of an 800m swim, 10 mile bike, and 1.3 mile run. Alison finished 3rd overall...just got beaten by the two fastest men! :)

  2. We are exhausted just looking at all the photos - you must be super fit to do all that exercise. We are now going to lie down & recover! Glad you all had a good weekend.

  3. Sylvia, you are funny! It was hard work but I fueled correctly - i.e., ate a LOT when I wasn't swimming, biking, or running! - and so felt fine. 30 miles on the bike followed by a 4 mile run today!

  4. I don't know....these oldies just cannot cope with even the thought of exercise (although, I cannot complain, I grow new grey hairs just thinking about it)!!
Many congrats on coming third...photos were brilliant and the scenery looked amazing:)

  6. Hey Alison.....I am going to have to get fit again before calving, even with a little one on the move I still feel exhausted. Cannot believe that I have been off the physical work for nearly a year - eek! Anyway, I shall be back calf rearing come end of July and then hopefully I shall be back in complete beautiful condition (??). Keep Well!
